DIY Face Spray

Happy Friday! Today I am sharing with you one of my favorite DIY skincare products. For a long time I was a big fan of the Mario Badescu facial sprays, but I wanted to save some money and see if I could make my own facial spray with some ingredients I already had at home. I went into my bathroom cabinets and pulled out a few items I wanted to try and mix together, and sure enough I concoted a facial spray that I can't be without now! My favorite way to use this spray is when I am traveling. I do about 6 international flights a year, so trust me when I say this little bottle of goodness really comes in handy! It is also great to use in the morning before applying your moisturizer, or at night in replace of a toner after you have washed all your makeup off.

Here are the ingredients and why I chose them:
Jojoba Oil- keeps your skin calm and comfortable, has anti-inflammatory properties, reduces redness, very moisturizing.

Aloe Vera Gel- treats acne, moisturizing, and soothing for dry or irritated skin.

Lavender Essential Oil- comforting and calming scent, soothes dry skin, full of antioxidants

Tea Tree Essential Oil- Anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial which helps to treat and fight acne, invigorating and fresh scent.

Water- a base to blend all the ingredients with :)

Directions:
In a 2 oz spray bottle (I get mine from the travel section at Target) add 1/4 of water, 15-20 drops of both lavender and tea tree essential oils, about 1 tsp of aloe vera gel, and fill the remaining space with jojoba oil. As you know, oil and water don't mix together so simply give your spray bottle a shake to blend everything before using. Whether you are using this at home, after the gym, or while traveling on an airplane- your skin is going to feel refreshed and nourished!
